Screws
All screws are approriately heat treated and hardened normally through nitriding process which ensures all sections of the screw flights are protected. Accurately ground to tight tolerance and polished.
Other surface treatments include
PVD Coatings (Physical Vapour Deposition) TiN, CrN
In addition we offer a wide range of hard-facing alloys along the flight tips to suit the most demanding applications and materials
- Iron Based Alloys such as High Speed Tool Steel
- Cobalt Based Alloys
- Nickel Based Alloys
For extreme wear and corrosion protection we supply screws with:
- Fully through hardened (up to 80mm Diamter)
- Fully Encapsulated Tungsten Carbide
- Speciality Alloys corrosion resistance
Along with our partners we offer the most advance screw design and manufacturing capabilities.
To identify the most suitable screw for your specific application, we will discuss with you to establish your key processing goals and operational parameters. This helps us understand your requirements clearly, ensuring that the chosen screw meets your needs effectively.
From traditional 3 stage compression screws to advanced barrier screws and range of high efficient dispersive and distributive mixers.
Screw Tips - NRV
Injection molding screw tips, often part of non-return valves (NRVs), act as one-way check valves at the end of the reciprocating screw. During the plasticizing phase, they allow melted polymer to pass, and during the injection phase, they shut to force material into the mold, preventing backward flow.
Types of Screw Tip Assemblies
Choosing the right screw tip depends directly on your resin viscosity and processing requirements.
- Three-Piece Assembly: The most common setup, which includes the screw tip (front nose), a sliding check ring, and a back-up ring (spacer). It is a versatile choice for a wide range of basic polymers.
- Ball Check Valves: Instead of a sliding ring, these use a ball to seal the flow. They are highly recommended for low-viscosity or low-shear materials (like rigid PVC) and provide a constant, repeatable pack size.
- Sliding Check Ring Valves (SRV): These feature a sliding ring that occludes a circumferential accumulator groove on the valve body to seal tightly. This design allows for a significantly shorter closure distance, reducing pressure drop and preventing excessive shear stress on the resin
Barrels
The performance of any plastic process depends on the design and quality of the barrel. Every application demands the right barrel size, configuration, and wear-resistant inner lining to support efficient material conveying and consistent processing. That is why we take the time to understand your exact requirements and manufacture barrels that maximise efficiency, improve durability, and reduce maintenance.
We offer a range of specifications including
Nitride Hardened
Wide range of Bi-metallic alloys for specific material types
High performance alloys for extreme corrosion applications
With precision machining and high manufacturing standards, our extruder barrels are built to deliver:
- Long service life
- Superior wear resistance
- Efficient heat transfer
- Reliable, consistent performance
- Higher extrusion rates and throughput
- Increased productivity
Feed Sections
We provide complete watercooled feed section assemblies and hardened liners tailored for any extruder model.
Our expertise in design include both plain bore and grooved feed types.
For rubber, silicone or mastic materials our sepcially ngineered feed roller assemblies boast advanced designs specifically engineered ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Twin Screw Extrusion
We specialise in parallel co-rotating and counter rotating processing components.
Our co-rotating screw elements and shafts for twin-screw extruders in sizes from 10 mm upwards.
Counter rotating screws and barrels are supplied to meet specified material types and applications suitable for all machinery types. Manufactured to precise standards as screw pairs to ensure correct and consistant processing.
Designed for a wide range of plastic processing applications, our components are produced from materials selected to suit the demands of each process, helping to deliver reliable performance, durability, and consistent processing quality
Through our European partner can provide bi-metallic relining for both parallel and conical counter rotating barrels as wel as refurbishment of parallel screws.
